What a day to visit Lecce! It hadn’t rained in nearly 5 months – and all that missing rain came down on us during the morning that we were there. Nonetheless, our guide did a great job helping us to discover the history, unique architecture, fascinating culture and delicious tastes of Lecce.

Our guide was extremely easy to work with arranging our tour. We communicated several times and he was always clear spoken and responsive. I would highly recommend any of his tours. His English was excellent and his knowledge of history and local culture gave the tour a great depth and interest. He also gave us some excellent recommendations and arranged a few special food stops! Excellent day.

We had a wonderful day with our guide touring Lecce and Otranto in the Puglia region! We were a group of 7 family members and friends, and met in Lecce in our car, and then travelled to Otranto and back to Lecce. He was very knowledgable about the history and architecture, and also took us to a couple of places to enjoy some typical food from the area. He was very well organized and also flexible in accommodating our interests and schedule. Would highly recommend this tour!

We had a great time in Lecce with our guide even though it was raining most of our tour. He did a great job. Very knowledgeable and interesting. He took us to tastings of local bakeries, even going out of his way to personally call and request for a local pastry to be made fresh for us so we can taste it straight out of the oven. This was a half day tour and we accomplished a lot

Fabio is Fabiolus! Our travel agent booked us with Fabio for a tour of Lecce, Gallipoli, Galatina and Soleto. The entire experience with Fabio was beyond excellent. Originally this was to be a Gallipoli, Galatina and Soleto full day tour but due to the Easter holidays Fabio proposed to rework the schedule across two days and add in some time in Lecce in order to allow us the best experience in Gallipoli with special access to churches. Fabio met us personally on the train platform at our arrival into Lecce and coordinated the meeting with our hotel’s driver for our transfer to our hotel to check-in and drop off our luggage. After this we were on our way for touring Lecce and Gallipoli which provided us a wealth of both local and historical context. The special access to the churches was superb. There is so much rich history in the area. For the evening we were provided a great recommendation for an authentic local dinner – which was also spot on! Also, as a surprise to my partner I wanted to arrange a special birthday dinner – for which Fabio made all the secret arrangements for the next day – which, again, amazing! As the tour was split across two days we met again a couple mornings later for the balance of Galatina and Soleto for a half day… just amazing! Fabio has an ability to bring the entire area to life for you. After our morning touring we were set with another perfect recommendation for dinner. Fabio was like a long lost friend that was so happy and excited to see you again. His ability to convey history in a relatable way, his knowledge of the local area and his infectious joy makes every moment spent with Fabio one that will stay with you for a lifetime. Our plans are to escape Canadian winters by spending more time in the Apulia region and look forward to catching up with Fabio again!

Despite a miserable rainy day, we still enjoyed Fabio and our tour. Fabio was very knowledgeable about Lecce and answered all our questions readily. He also had a laser pointer which helped as he described various architectural features. We also enjoyed hearing his perspective on Italian politics. He is an interesting guy and we found enjoyable to be around.

Fantastic tour! We like we’ve known Fabio for years. The tour was perfectly planned- we hit all the important sites and then ate some delicious typical treats (at the best places, of course)! We avoided the tourist traps so we truly felt like locals. Fabio’s English was perfect, having lived in NYC & Miami. His passion for his hometown of Lecce was infectious! We really feel like part of his family now. Can’t wait to come back and visit Puglia again!

We had a very enjoyable tour with Fabio. Great information about the architecture and history of Lecce. We visited a number of the important sites within the old town and some lesser ones, which Fabio used along with interesting anecdotes to illustrate the growth of the city. Equally important for us were the tips about where to find the best beaches and food throughout the wider Salento region.

On our recent tour of Southern Italy, Fabio was our guide and did a wonderful job of helping us explore many of the beautiful towns of Puglia including Lecce, Ostuni, Otranto and Gallipoli. His knowledge of the area and helpful suggestions for restaurants and things to do certainly helped us enjoy a great trip. I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking to make a trip to this area.

Fabio shared a truly amazing day with us. His knowledge of the byzantine art in Galatina, Soleto and Otranto was impressive, as was his deep history of the area. He was also very kind when one of us was ill and went out of his way to make sure we had an excellent, educational tour! I definitely recommend him.

Not only do we now know the very important history of Lecce, but we also know where to have the best lunch, dinner, coffee, pastry, and snacks. All different places incidentally!! Fabio also made reservations for us in other places we visited during our 10 day stay in Apuglia!! He is simply the best.

We had such an amazing two days with Fabio in the Salento area. Even before we arrived he gave us great advice on other areas. He is knowledgeable, caring., funny and totally focused on having his clients discover what makes this part of Apulia so special, we had a long but incredible day going coast to coast seeing Otranto , Gallipoli and more and swimming in both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Spectacular scenery and history And we had the most amazing seafood lunch with fish caught that day by the restaurant’s own boat. Then we did a cultural day- frescoes in Galatina and Soleto and then the wonders of Lecce – stunning facades and buildings. Fabio also finds local gems, including three amazing food tastings in Lecce. We highly recommend these two tours with Fabio. We wished we had more time.

Oh my Fabio is absolute best! We planned a trip two years ago and had to reschedule it due to Covid and he has been helping us nonstop with planning and advice. He gave us a wonderful tour in Lecce as well as guidance to the entire Salento coast… restaurant stopping points etc.. Then he scheduled another tour guide for us in Matera as well as restaurant reservations…. He has so much energy and an amazing spirit. I couldn’t recommend him more!! I was a bit apprehensive about booking a personal tour with a company I didn’t know, but I was not disappointed. I was visiting Lecce for the second time. I had been with a large tour group the one other time and just got a small glimpse of the city and a bit of history, but enough to pique my interest for a second trip. I booked tour Number 20, Lecce, The Capital of Baroque and Local Product Tasting.

My tour guide, Fabio, was wonderful. He met me at my B & B with a big smile and off we went. His American English was perfect, and his knowledge of the city, culture and architecture were amazing. For the next nearly three hours I was able to see the city through Fabio’s eyes. It was the best tour I have been on. If you book with this company, you simply must request Fabio. As I understand, his knowledge is not limited to the city of Lecce, but his knowledge extends to much of Salento.

I highly recommend this company to anyone who is traveling in Puglia.

Fabio gave us a super fantastic unforgettable day exploring the Salento coast. We were blessed with perfect blue skies and a fabulous guide to show off his region with passion and a deep understanding of its history. A midday break at a seafood restaurant was noteworthy and solidified his credibility as knowing where the best seafood is in all of Puglia. And lastly is Fabio’s careful driving manner, which whilst doesn’t reflect a true local Italian experience, you at least get to live another day!

Fabio was friendly, knowledgeable, easy going, punctual & informative. He always put himself out to help us including crossing busy roads. We can’t thank him enough for all his hard work.

Fabio was terrific. He kept all 8 of us Canadians very entertained and well fed with all the samplings he introduced us to. As well he is very knowledgeable, paced his tour to make sure questions were answered, the group were of different ages and he was respectful of needs and interest of the group and shared his wisdom about Lecce and other areas in Puglia. We would definitely recommend him to others. He also knows quite a bit about Canada.

This tour is out of most tourist itineraries, so it is very special that someone like Fabio brought so much passion to enlightening us about the places we visited (which by themselves, were magnificent !! Everyone should visit Galatina and Soleto to see the fresco cycles!) .. of a very personable and friendly nature, our tour guide’s knowledge of where we visited and food recommendations were amazing, and thanks to him (and Simona), we had a wonderful day !!! Both tour and guide are highly recommended !

Fabio was an OUTSTANDING tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and warm. His English is perfect. He brought us to so many great sites and treated us to some fantastic local snacks, rustica and pasticciotto, and the BEST cafe ghiaccio, the local coffee. He also gave us advice on local restaurants and important towns and sites to visit around Lecce. Our tour guide was fabulous!!! I highly recommend him—he truly made our visit to Lecce special.

Fabio had suggested that we delay our tour until 5pm so that it would be a little cooler – we appreciated his thoughtfulness as it really was very hot! Our tour guide is clearly knowledgable and passionate about Lecce and its architecture – I would say that is his real strength. He walked and talked us through his beautiful streets and spoke very well about the buildings, churches, history and art. We also enjoyed three of the local foodie treats!! His English is amazing!!
