The Acaya hamlet takes its name from the last name of the military architect who built it (Gian Giacomo dell’Acaya) and made it the only fortified town in the southern part of Italy.

Its planimetry was very innovative, infact all the streets were intersected each other and formed a net and on its southernmost part there was the castle.

The defensive system of the hamlet became one of the most innovative in Europe.

Hand made pasta classes, where you can learn how to make the “sagna” into an old oven of the XVIII century located into a restaurant that serves some delicious hand made pasta dishes.
